Businesses

Businesses can offer a special edition watch to their investors, key employees, partners, key customers, etc. It can be a gift in the case of an exit, or it can be another way for the company to leverage the brand and create something exclusive that certain people will want to buy. It can be both. All images here are just renderings, not real watches. Some are very new concepts that would need considerable R&D, while others are fairly easy to make on an existing platform.

SpaceX watch

SpaceX

Base watch
Jacob & Co. Astronomia
Case
Polished case with a tall sapphire dome
Dial
Blue aventurine, open to the movement, with the SpaceX logo
Figures
A miniature Starship, an astronaut and a red Cybertruck circle a hand-painted Earth. These can be changed.
Time
Hours and minutes on a small dial at twelve
Movement
Mechanical, with a tourbillon at six
Setting
No crown: wound and set from two fold-out bows on the case back

This extraordinary watch is based on the Jacob & Co Astronomia watch, which retails for $300,000 and up. We can customize it with various options without changing the movement, so delivery for these pieces will be in months, not years.

This is just one example. We can access several different type of space-themed watches from $100,000 to over $1 million.

Amazon watch

Amazon

Base watch
Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948
Case
White gold
Dial
Enamel map of the world in navy, with orange dots where Amazon has offices
Functions
World time with Amazon's categories in place of city names, a 24-hour day and night ring, and a pusher at seven that turns the category ring
Hands
Dauphine hour hand and a white gold minute hand shaped like the Amazon smile
Movement
Mechanical, with a tourbillon at six

This watch features a world map with tiny gems for Amazon distribution centers, a tourbillon, and rather than a second time zone, it displays product categories. Can be based on a 12-hour or 24-hour day. Built on an existing GMT calibre, it would probably take around 6 months for the first prototype and production could start within a year.

Google watchGoogle watch

Google

Dial
White enamel copy of the google.com home page, with the logo in its four colors
Time
The hour jumps on a disc in the search bar, black on white in the morning and white on black after noon, and a pointer shaped like a typing cursor slides across the minutes and flies back at the hour
I'm Feeling Lucky
A pusher at four spins a disc behind the round window at the upper right, and it stops randomly on one of five colors.
Back
A tourbillon beside a self-winding rotor shaped like Google's four-color G, with I'M FEELING LUCKY engraved on the rim

Some things never change, and the Google home page is an example. A watch with custom features like this is very cool, but it will take time to design and produce the custom movement. I'm happy to discuss collaborations as long as clients understand the expense and the wait involved. Watches aren't software!

Palantir watchPalantir watch

Palantir

Base watch
Richard Mille RM 17-01 Tourbillon in Carbon TPT
Case
Black marbled composite tonneau
Dial
Skeletonized, with the bridges shaped as land masses on a map and miniature aircraft, ships and vehicles placed on it
Luminous
Green hour markers and hand tips
Movement
Mechanical, with a tourbillon at six

Palantir coordinates assets on the battlefield with a birds-eye-view of the theater, and that's what this watch does as well. It's based on a design by one of the famous Swiss luxury brands, but it will take a conversation to determine how custom it would be.

Anduril watch

Anduril

Base watch
Panerai Luminor Tourbillon GMT, PAM01784
Case
Black DLC case in the Luminor style, with a crown guard
Dial
A radar screen painted in green luminous paint, with a sweep across a smoked sapphire disc
Figure
A miniature model of Anduril's Fury aircraft flying around the dial
Movement
Mechanical, with a double-axis tourbillon and emerald jewels

This is based on our own concept of a rotating disc with a thin luminous channel and a gradient of luminous material behind. We have no idea if it would work. We want to engage with our customers to specify their dream watch and then see if we can build it. As they say, "Everything is impossible until someone does it."

The Boring Company watch

The Boring Company

Case
White ceramic
Dial
Meteorite, turned as a tunneling machine's cutterhead, with four rows of cutters in red, blue, orange, and green stones
Time
No hands: the cutterhead turns, black baguette stones mark the hours, and a window at twelve shows the minutes
Movement
Mechanical, with a tourbillon at the center of the cutterhead

This wonderful (yet non-existent) creation is based on the design of the Boring Company's Prufrock 3 cutting head, we use different colored gems to denote the cutters, and we've included a tourbillon at the center. The cool feature is that the owner knows which color arm plays the role of the minute hand, but no one else does. This concept watch does not exist and would have to be designed from scratch, it would likely take 18-24 months to get a prototype.

IBM watch

IBM

Dial
The IBM logo built from rows of blue sapphires
Time
No hands: the hours and minutes turn on numbered discs behind two windows, and a third window shows AM or PM
Movement
Mechanical, with a tourbillon at six

This particular concept would be a custom movement to show a "digital" watch. It's just a concept right now. Some watches do have large display windows for dates. If this is something a client is interested in, we would present several options and discuss pricing.

These watches are design concepts. None of these organizations has ordered one.
