The black dial of a Panerai Luminor Marina 8 Days, close up

Panerai

Panerai makes big tool watches, and a woman who likes a chunky watch can wear one in any size. In 2018 the brand brought the thin Luminor Due down to 38mm, a size one reviewer called rather unisex, and female journalists talked about it more than any other watch at that year’s show. Panerai shrank the case and kept the look, and it put a three-day movement inside. The Due 38 in Goldtech followed in 2022, on the thin P.900 automatic.

I can source any watch, new or used, even very hard-to-get. I chose these examples to guide you.

TuttoOro means "all gold" in Italian, and Panerai made the case and bracelet from Goldtech, its red gold mixed with copper and platinum. Panerai says these 2022 models were its first watches with gold bracelets.

The window at 3 o'clock shows the phase of the moon, a gold moon on a starry blue disc. Panerai added a moon phase to the Luminor Due for the first time in 2022, and on this Goldtech version it pairs the moon phase with a mother-of-pearl dial and a sapphire back.

More about Panerai

In 1916 the company patented Radiomir, a luminous paint made with radium. Luminor replaced it with tritium, and Panerai later gave the name to the watch with a lever that locks the crown. The Vendôme group, now Richemont, bought Panerai in 1997.
